Extending the Centro Municipal de Atención Temprana (Early Childhood) of Alhaurin el Grande.
The Centre will have 120 seats and also will open in the evenings, thanks to a new agreement signed between the council and the Ministry of Health.
The council of Alhaurin el Grande and the Ministry of Health of Andalusia have signed an agreement allowing the expansion of the Centro Municipal de Atención Temprana (Early Childhood)early childhood Municipal Center “Fahala”, the only center of its kind in the region of Valle del Guadalhorce, which until now has been serving a hundred children from 0 to five years, with disorders in their development.
This new agreement allows an increase in the number of places of up to 120 children, providing a service in the afternoon and also increasing the number of professionals at the centre. This centre will have funding of 178,000 euros until the middle of next year.
The Early Childhood Center currently has a professional team composed of two speech therapists, two physiotherapists and two psychologists and serves children across the province, mostly from Alhaurin el Grande and its surrounding area.
As stated by the Deputy Mayor, Toñi Ledesma "this extension is a reward to the excellent work done by professionals, which has been operating for more than eight years, increasing the number of seats will reduce the waiting list, which has risen due to the increase in premature births. To this end we will have more professionals, which will expand the schedule with afternoon sessions and improve the over quality of service both in equipment and allow for new offices and care facilities", stated the Edil.
