Alhaurín el Grande devotes street names to Victims of Terrorism.

The council approved a motion in Parliament in this institutional sense.

The council of Alhaurín el Grande has approved at the last municipal plenary a joint motion of the three municipal groups PP, PSOE and IU-LV in relation to the Victims of Terrorism.

In the explanatory memorandum, after a brief journey through the history of terrorism in Spain and an assessment of its consequences and current situation, we conclude that "freedom and human dignity are values that must be present in political action and defended with firm determination for the representatives of the people chosen democratically. The course of justice, police persecution, the momentum of law and the rule of law, as well as the unity of democrats, are not enough to defeat terrorism unless recognition is accompanied to the victims for defending freedom, for not hushing up faced with long-suffering threats, for defending Spain and its framework of coexistence, becoming a landmark  for ethics. That is why the Spanish society must offer memory, dignity and justice for all victims of terrorism. "

In this respect, the plenary session has approved the following agreements: first, to dedicate the name "Victims of the terrorism" to a Street, Avenue or Plaza de la Villa, as institutional recognition of human value in its highest expression and the dignity with which they have suffered immeasurable evil in the name of all, and secondly, that the act of placing the plate is held with the participation of civil society, a tribute of appreciation to their suffering and their important role in safeguarding liberties.

All political groups of the council expressed satisfaction with the unanimity in this agreement, and the Mayor was grateful for the consensus in a matter that "joins all" and called on council members to propose specific names of victims of terrorism to name newly created streets in the municipality.
