Alhaurín el Grande council opens the deadline for the Rehabilitation of Buildings 2008.

Applications for aid may be submitted until 5th June 2008.

The Councillor for housing, Micaela Naranjo, states that the deadline is 5th June for the submission of applications to benefit from the 2008 Rehabilitation Programme for residential Buildings and improvement of grants and facilities managed by la Empresa Pública del Suelo de Andalucía.

The Councillor for Housing said that as far as conditions and requirements for the program "the aid will go to

• buildings over at least three floors, of at least 10 years old; and
• that at least 50% of the residents of these buildings have annual income not exceeding 2.5 ;
•  the Indicator Public of Rents Efectos Múltiples (IPREM) and that the projected budget does not exceed an average of 10,000 euros per household or 14,000 euro for the rehabilitation where it includes structural adjustments to the building.

As far as aid is concerned , the Councillor for Housing said " technical assistance for the project, works management and recruitment and management of the same is subsidised in its entirety ; also subsidised is 75% of the budget protected or 95% if the annual income of half the residents are not higher than the 1.5 IPREM, the council also granted a bonus of 95% in fees for licensing work.

Finally the Councillor for Housing encouraged all communities of owners who meet the specifications outlined in seeking such aid to clean up facades and common public areas, to install lifts or to carry out any work of modernisation that improves the quality of life of neighbours.
