The City of Alhaurin el Grande recovered land in the area of Arquilla del Agua.
It is about a plot of 15.000 m2 that the Council earmarked in the year 1995 for the construction of an old people's home.
The councillor for Urban Development of the Municipality of Alhaurín el Grande, Gregorio Guerra, has announced a major step with regards to an increase of the municipal heritage. This is the recovery of a piece of land 15.000 m2 1995 situated in the borough of Arquilla del Agua, which was a property of the Municipy and that the Council gave in the year 1995 to the association "Extend your hands to the weakest" for the construction of an old people's home. Thirteen years have passed since then and no action had been undertaken, so the Council has taken this opportunity to initiate proceedings to recover this municipal heritage.
"The procedures for the recovery of this public land have begun with a document from a Notary which informs that actually there has not been a construction of the residence, and according to the agreement by theLocal Government board, this document has been reported to the President of the association to which the Council ceded the land so that within 15 days such claims as deemed appropriate can be made, " informed the edil".
Mayor Juan Martin, for its part, has expressed the importance of this addition to the municipal heritage, "this is an important recovery for the municipal heritage of the people, because it is a public patrimony that will be used in the future for the benefit and enjoyment of all neighbours in an emerging area of the municipality." The edil explained that "this incorporation of assets is well inside the policy of increasing local heritage, which already has joined private properties that have been acquired by the consistory because their special interest" and recalled that "from the City Council we continue with our proyect of a residence for the elderly in the urbanisation of Jorobado Orchard. "
