The council of Alhaurin el Grande will build a new football stadium in Arquilla del Agua.

The consistory has approved an agreement in plenary to finance the locker rooms of this future artificial grass Football Stadium, which could be completed in late 2009.

The council of Alhaurín el Grande in full and has approved unanimously an agreement with the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Sport of Andalusia to finance the locker rooms of the future artificial grass football stadium Arquilla del Agua, some changing rooms have a budget of 284,718 euros, which will be co financed 50-50 by Junta and Town hall, each institution providing the amount of 142,359 euros. The council project has already, the land and funding for this artificial grass field and this agreement makes it possible to obtain a grant to construct changing rooms and equipment to complete the stadium.

The Mayor Juan Martin has informed that " in whole there is going to be realized an investment of 1.5 million Euros that are distributed between the Municipal Stadium Miguel Fijones, where new tiers and wardrobes will be constructed, and the new football stadium Arquilla del Agua with its corresponding wardrobes and tiers; of this one and a half million euros, the Government of Andalusia provided under an agreement signed a couple of years ago, 400,000 euros and now we have approved this new agreement whereby the autonomous institution subsidizes over the next four years 142,000 euros, although the council has all the financing to start construction as soon as the projects approved, with which all these facilities could be completed by the end of 2009. "

The Edil thanked the Government of Andalusia for its contribution, and stressed the important gamble that has been done by the council for sport in general and football in particular, where every year an increasing number of children and youngsters participate in Municipal Schools, stressing the important work being done by the Club Deportivo Alhaurin. In this regard, the mayor anticipated that the new field of Arquilla del Agua will go to teams from the Municipal School football stadium and Miguel Fijones the teams Club Deportivo Alhaurin.
