“El Palomar”, a new green area in the environment of the Feria Ground.

It is a space of 2.000 m2 where the City council will invest 250.000 Euros.

The City council of Alhaurín el Grande has begun work on the creation of a new green area to be known as “El Palomar”  in the vicinity of the Feria ground.  It will be an irregular shaped parcel of land between la Avenida Adolfo Suarez (main entrance to the Feria ground and calle Huerta Los Patos (the road leading to the entrance to Mercadona car park).

The parcel of land is about 2.000m2, and to take account of the difference in height between the two streets, two platforms will be built. There will be a childrens playground, street lighting and urban furniture. It will be surrounded by a wide gardens with great number of shade trees and some 35 palms more than five meters in height. The project will last 3 months and has a budget of about 250.000 Euros.

The Mayor, Juan Martin explained that the new park is an important investment dedicated to improve the quality of life in this area. It is part of an ongoing project at the Ferial ground where more than 15.000 m2 has been developed to improve the huts, provide new parkings and gardens that we will ready for the “Feria de Mayo”
