Those who couldn't make the meeting on Thursday 14th can collect the paperwork required from the library in town (opposite the Health Centre next to the bandstand) on Friday 15th February between the hours of 18.00 - 20.00. All completed alegaciones must be dropped off on Monday 18th at ME Express by 14.00 or at the library between 18.00 - 21.00. Those who have already completed the paperwork which they downloaded from the internet this week should drop it off at the same points. Anyone with any queries can email tracy@inlandmagazine.com

We apologise on behalf of the Platform for any confusion caused. The road has been 'paralysed' NOT STOPPED CONCLUSIVELY and these allegations are extremely important in order to reinforce the progress made so far and to reiterate the compromises which have been agreed by the parties involved.
We now have online a downloadable letter that can be sent by yourselves to the British Consul to complain about the bypass and ask the Consul for his help and advice. The more letters that are sent can only help publicise this protest. The letter can be downloaded here.
It was reported by Thomas Graham, member of the Platform against the bypass that there will be a meeting for all interested parties at La Peñita (behind the BP petrol station) in Alhaurín el Grande on Wednesday January 23rd at 21.30. 10,000 leaflets will be distributed widely throughout the area during the coming weeks to raise public awareness as well as posters and banners and the new written protests (alegaciones) will be available to sign at the end of next week – on or around the 25th January. These alegaciones can be completed by anyone who wishes to protest against the project and will be presented to the Junta by February 20th. The President of the Platform recently met with The Junta de Andalucía to discuss the preferred alternatives and reported that the Junta were “non-committal” about the outcome but the general consensus is one of optimism. Please visit this site regularly for updates on the availability of the paperwork involved and listen to Ace FM on 106.8. We want to especially thank tracy for all of her help for the information she has provided and all the help with preparing all the press releases.

At a meeting of the Platform against the Alhaurín el Grande Bypass recently, the President confirmed that the fight continues. So far, more than 1500 'alegaciones' (written objections)have been presented to the Junta de Andalucía, protesting against the project.
After an emergency campaign last weekend, 1300 alegaciones were made during a twenty-four hour period and the number of 'foreigners' who have completed alegaciones was remarked upon - some people came from as far as Benalmádena and Fuengirola to sign.
There now remains a two month period during which more alegaciones can be made. The Platform stressed that public awareness must continue to be raised by word of mouth as well as through the media. Many locals remain unaware of the implications of this hugely invasive and destructive project. There are still homeowners who are directly affected who have not come forward.
Please take the time to read the articles on this site, inform yourself and spread the word to your friends and neighbours - this affects all of us.
Anyone who has doubts or needs further information can contact alhaurintoday.com or call INland Magazine on 952 595 046.
Please return to this site regularly for updates and information on how you can join the campaign. Also listen to AceFM on 106.8FM.
If you haven't yet made an 'alegación' there will be a form on this site which you can print out and complete as soon as it becomes available.
