The council began the second phase of improving the Barriada Huerta del Hoyo
The work on the Calles Doctor Barraquer, Jiménez Díaz and Marañón has begun with costs amounting to a total of 281,656 euros.
The total area of reform is approximately 2,000 m2, and the work consists of the demolition of existing areas and the subsequent upgrading of the water, sanitation and road surfaces. Also included is the implementation of new facilities such as public lighting, telephones and electricity.
These improvements are being carried out with the intention of improving the quality of the area.
As reported by the Mayor Juan Martín the budget for the work is a total of 281,656 euros, which will be cofinanced by the Diputación Provincial de Málaga, who pays for 66%, the council which will provide 20% and the Junta de Andalucía with pay a 14% subsidy.
The deadline for execution of these works is estimated at about 5 months and the initial work is being implemented at Calle Doctor Barraquer, where machinery is digging up the pavement.
The Edil stated that "these jobs are within the settlement plan set out previously and is part of the comprehensive improvement of townships in the municipality, undertaken in recent years by the government team. Works took place at El Chorro and other significant inprovements took place in areas such as Bajondillo, Huertas Altas, Camino de Coín, and the first phase of work in the area Huerta del Hoyo which which took place last year. Works are ongoing at Calle Gustavo Thörlichen ; The mayor went on to say " we are embarking on a comprehensive improvement of the poor infrastructure we inherited almost 8 years ago which has been one of our main goals and most of this has been achieved already. "
