The Council ask for the speeding up of the expansion of the schools Felix Plaza and Carmen Arevalo.
For next term it will be necessary the construction of two new prefabricated rooms in the C.E.I.P. Felix Plaza to confront the need for more places.
Last week took place a meeting of the schools Commission for primary and secondary education of Alhaurín el Grande composed of: directors of educational centres, AMPAS and the Council.
The purpose of this meeting has been, once undertaken the previous evaluation of the different pupils and their placement, to determine the relocation of the students
Who were unable to obtain a place at the Centre of their choice, in particular 3 and 4 years old children whose demand outstrip by far what is on offer.
After studying every individual case and the relocation of students, the Commission concluded that an important group of children were left without a place in the municipal area. These conclusions were passedon to the Provincial Delegation for Education, who accepted the need to create two new prefabricated rooms at one of the schools, Felix Plaza, where demand was greatest, an urgent and temporary solution
while waiting for expansion of the Centre.
The councillor for education, Josefa Brescia, member of the schools commission, has pointed that “the creation of these two new prefabricated rooms is only a temporary measure until the expansion of the named schools is completed that being the reason of urging the JUNTA de Andalucia to speed up the processes not only for these two projects but also for the construction of a new school in Alhaurín el Grande in the areas of greater growth and expansion in the Municipal”.
In this respect, the Major of Alhaurín, Juan Martin, has manifested that “ the Council has made an important effort to make possible the expansion of the schools and that Alhaurín needs a new school for which the Council already has the land available for the project, hoping that the JUNTA will make a start as soon as possible. With the expansion of these two Centres and a new school it would be possible to meet the educational demands for Alhaurín el Grande.
