The “Early Years” service of the Council of Alhaurín El Grande, will increase the number of places and professionals.
It is about a free service for children from 0 to 4 years covering the whole region of the Valley of the Guadalhorce.
The council of Alhaurín El Grande and the Commission of Health have signed the extension of the agreement of collaboration between both institutions for the development of the “Program for early years for boys and girls from 0 to 4 years with development problems or risk of being affected by them”, a service that is located in the Centre Fahala and that is free for children originating from any place within the Vale of the Guadalhorce.
The signature of this agreement allows the enlargement of 100 places a month on average and also it supposes an important improvement in the quality of the service, since the investment increases both in material means and in personnel, doubling the number of professionals from three to six, offering a multidisciplinary service of quality supporting the psychological development, that allows the full integration of these children into society.
The Councilwoman for Social Well-being, Francisca Bonilla, has pointed out: “from now there is going to be a closer collaboration with the Centre of Health, since the paediatricians will be able to refer the cases that they detect to the Early years Service, which will allow it to look at and resolve them quicker”.
